Questions about convert image format
Is my image uploaded?
No. The file is read and processed by your browser on your device. This site makes no network request containing your image.
Why is WebP missing from the format list?
Some older browsers cannot encode WebP. The list is built by testing your browser's encoders, so missing formats are unsupported there.
What happens to transparent areas in JPEG?
JPEG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background color you choose (white by default).
Is WebP supported everywhere?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari all display WebP. Some older apps and email clients do not, so choose JPEG or PNG when you are not sure where the image will be opened.
